On Saturday 27 May, Ex-Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga visited Akita Offshore Wind Farm which has been in commercial operation since January this year. This visit was guided by Keiji Okagaki, President and CEO and was accompanied by Mr. Hiroshi Tachigami, General Manager of Offshore Wind & Domestic Renewable Energy Dept. of Marubeni Corporation on behalf of the shareholders. Further, Mr. Hiroo Inoue, Director-General, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Dept. of Agency for Natural Resources and Energy and others also participated in this visit and confirmed stable operation of Japan’s first large-scale offshore wind farm.
 
Ex-Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga responded to interviews of the press. He commented that he had insisted on the importance of introducing as much renewable energy as possible to achieve carbon neutrality in 2050 and highly evaluated the successful model of offshore wind power generation in Akita Prefecture where he is from.
 
We will continue to make efforts to contribute to the local society through stable operation of Akita and Noshiro offshore wind farms.
