About the occurrence of novel coronavirus infectious disease patients
Please be informed that offshore construction workers working on the construction vessel for the Akita-Noshiro offshore wind power, “AOW” project were revealed to be infected with novel coronavirus infectious disease.
Since one offshore worker who had been working on the vessel was turned out to be infected after disembarking on August 19, AOW stopped the offshore work. As the result that PCR test was performed for all the onboard workers and related parties, 14 workers (15 in total) were revealed to be positive as of August 23.
Currently, we are continuing disinfection work for the vessel and related facilities to secure the safety.
AOW will continue to do all efforts to take disease control measures, which involves the action history survey and isolation of patients, in cooperation with the public health center and parties involved.
We deeply apologize for the concern and inconvenience to everyone in the communities and related parties. We will give top priority to human life, safety, and prevention of the spread of infection, and will take all possible measures carefully. We appreciate your understanding.
