Mr. Ken Saito, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, visited Akita Offshore Wind Farm
On Saturday, 29th June, Mr. Ken Saito, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, visited Akita Offshore Wind Farm which has been in commercial operation since January 2023.
Soichi Inoue, President and CEO of our company, explained the outline and activities of the company toward the Minister. Further, Mr. Hiroo Inoue, Director-General, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Dept. of Agency for Natural Resources and Energy and others also participated in this visit and confirmed stable operation of Japan’s first large-scale offshore wind farm at the site.
Minister Ken Saito responded to the interview of the press. He commented that the Akita prefecture is the front-runner in the offshore wind industry in Japan and toward the further expansion of the introduction of the offshore wind business well connecting with the community like the case in Akita, the ministry will support these activities in the local community.
We will continue to make efforts to contribute to the local society together with the local community through the stable operation of Akita and Noshiro offshore wind farms.
